Date of Entry: 2-21-2008As I sit here at the Philadelphia airport with too much time on my hands I
think of you as I do every day. Wishing you were here so I could call you
as you did to me when you were traveling the world. The traveling is hard
on the kids but they are doing well. Julia and Geena speak of you often
and we all went to church to celebrate your birthday. I thought it would
get easier but it hasn't. We had a brownie cake just for you! Julia sends you
a balloon every year with a note so I hope you see that. Give kisses and

She is a great person and you can learn alot from her! I know you would get along and enjoy her company too. Bryant is now 6 and Tamia is 16 months. Can you believe that I have two kids now? Sometimes I even say is this for real! Everyone is doing well. Nikki at times appears to be ok, but I do ask that you please touch Shawnee somehow because she needs to know you are ok. thinking of you since Shawnee called me to give me the news. I have come on this site
countless times to write something but you know me, it's just so hard to say how I feel.
When Shawnee gave me the news all I could think of was the note you gave me at SLU asking
me why do we always drift apart? I had no answer then and I certainly don't have one now.
I wish I had kept in more contact with you. When I think of the great times we had together,
the fun...not going to class and just relaxin for the sake of relaxing. I miss you alot G Money.
I think for some time I had been able to deal with your passing because I had a co-worker who
looked so much like you and we used to hang out and just have fun...she reminded me
so much of you. So full of life and ambition...then it hit me, she wasn't you. I spoke of you
the other night to my girlfriend Monique, I told her how much you meant to me,
because I never told you. Everytime I watch Seinfeld, Friends or some crazy show
about a group of friends I think of the good times I had with You, Nikki and Shawnee.
I know wherever you are, you are making mamosas, smiling and making everyone around you smile.
Well here I am getting all emotional...so I am going to just say...I can't wait to see you again.

Mommy mentioned that she wore 2 different shoes the other day and I just smiled because I thought that you were only person who ever did that... Date of Entry: 1-13-2007Happy Birthday in Heaven, Geena. In your memory, I am starting a scholarship fund for graduating seniors at your high school. Not a day goes by that I don't think about what you must have been like in those halls, in those classrooms. I am grateful to be teaching in your school. The scholarship will be called the "Geena Torres Hodgins Scholarship Award." I'll take donations from family and friends who love you and have students apply by writing an essay on how they have personally overcome adversity to pursue their dreams (sounds familiar?). I will be looking for the most Geena-esque student. I'll keep the scholarship going every year, for as long as the school exists and will make sure Amanda keeps it going long after I'm gone to join you. Miss you, sis. Love you forever.

Date of Entry: 1-12-2007One would figure that at some point it would get easier but it really doesn't.
Julia cries and thinks of you often which just shows you the impact you have had on her.
She was three years old when it all happened yet her memories are clear and vivid.
On Christmas day she drew a picture for you and wanted to send it so we bought a
balloon (a really big one) attached a note and sent it on its way to the heavens.
She cries today not even realizing that tomorrow was to be your 36th birthday,
a day for chocolate cake, brownies and arroz con pollo. Geena mourns quietly,
in her own time and in her own space. From time to time she will come over and
hug me, whisper that she misses you and retreats to her room. I know her pain,
it is deep and never-ending. I keep thinking of the last time I saw you at the
hospital, holding your hand, praying that you would wake up, thinking that it was
just a bad dream and that I would call you and tell you all about it. I miss you Gee,
your hugs, your words of wisdom, your bad jokes, your dinners, our sleepovers.
I miss seeing you, spending time with you, I miss you being a part of my physical day to day life.
Your presence is felt and missed. Jaime is two now and talking as much as the others.

Julia spent the night with us the other day, as we were cuddled up on the couch together she said
"Grandma, do your wishes come true"? I said sometimes baby, what are you wishing for,
she said with tears in her big eyes, I wish "Badina" would come back, I miss her.
I held back my tears, and told her that is one wish I could not give her, but I know that
she is looking down on you and protecting you, and loves you do much, She smiled.
The children miss you so much, even at their young age, they will always remember you and love you.
Jaime knows of you, though she never met you. She is such a character, cute as can be, looks so much like Julia.

I came across a candle that you had given me for Christmas one year, and I was thinking of you.
Gee, Julia and little Jaime are so adorable, Myrna and James have such beautiful girls.
Gee and Julia speak of you often, and miss you so much. You made a big impression
in their little minds while you were on this earth, and they have great memories of you.
I only wish you could of met Jaime, she is so funny and has a great head of hair, we call her " crazy hair".

Date of Entry: 1-15-2006Ya know knuckle, it hit hard. No matter how hard the conscious mind tries,
the subconscious cannot run nor hide. I got slammed at about 10:30pm on 1/12/06.
A ton of bricks hit me and I cried. On Friday, I couldn't listen to any of my messages
because I knew there'd be none from you. Video games at Dave and Buster's helped me a little.
Being the thorn for all of those folks at the Super Trivia game was amusing for the moment.

today would've been your 35th birthday... a milestone of sorts. I simply cannot express well enough

My husband and I took little Gee out for her "10"th b-day dinner the other night.
Gee mentioned that you were still her GodMother, even though you
were not with us. I said you would always be watching over her.
The girls are getting big, Jaime is so beautiful and has such a cute personality,
she looks so much like Julia. Geena is interested in boys, and is taking
more of an interest in how she looks. I told her she has to hold off
on the boys until she is at least 35!!!! Julia is so adorable and smart,
she has a wonderful personality, she is so much fun to be around.
They all miss you Gee so much. They will always remember you,
and the love that you had for them.
It is Christmas in a few weeks, we will miss you coming to our home and
sharing Christmas Eve with all of us, the plant that you gave me
a few years ago, Christmas Cactus, is in bloom again now.

I can't believe it has been a year since we have spoken. I miss you every day.
Just want you to know that Tony and I spent the afternoon with your parents.
They are strong as always and of course, missing you too. It was nice to share our stories
